Job Summary

The Collision Service Specialist handles collision service needs at AutoNation Dealerships without a collision repair facility. This role involves writing courtesy estimates, coordinating repair needs for dealership associates, and updating customers and staff on the repair status of vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Writes professional estimates on light damaged vehicles
  • Actively promotes the sale on all estimates
  • Understands basic parameters of insurance programs, including DRP and non-DRP
  • Obtains all necessary signatures, work authorizations, and powers of attorney
  • Communicates with customers on the process of vehicle repair in a timely and effective manner, as outlined in AutoNation's Customer Repair 10 Step Process
  • Reviews all final bills, supplements, and vehicles prior to customer contact for delivery
  • Reviews the completed vehicle to check quality and thoroughness
  • Maintains a clean and organized work area
  • Takes care to protect customers' vehicles during the repair process
  • Works with other associates on daily planning and release meetings
  • Tracks production schedules for vehicles and communicates targets with customers and other associates
  • Uses the highest standard of professionalism when dealing with customers, insurance representatives, vendors, and associates
  • Maintains continual industry education to stay up-to-date on changes in repair requirements and product knowledge
  • Responsible for collecting Accounts Receivable on all insurance, wholesale accounts, closed, and commission paid
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to comprehend and read instructions
  • Basic knowledge of vehicle repairs practices
  • Valid in-state driver's license
  • Ability to interpret work scope from vehicle estimates or work orders
  • Ability to operate an automobile
