The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will oversee the engineering aspects related to the production processes. Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will:
- Facilitate shop floor operations to achieve business objectives while fostering input from team members in a self-directed workforce environment.
- Contribute to the formulation of mid and long-term strategies that outline projects to help the organization meet its goals, emphasizing cost efficiency, product quality, and cycle time.
- Design and implement manufacturing systems and processes for effective material control and replenishment.
- Enhance customer satisfaction and build positive relationships with design engineering teams.
- Take ownership of all aspects of production operations, including safety, scheduling, quality, and team development within assigned areas.
- Plan and execute process engineering activities for both new product development and ongoing product support.
- Develop and improve manufacturing methods for existing and new products.
- Identify safe manufacturing processes that yield high-quality products efficiently.
- Research and integrate new technologies to support growth initiatives.
- Assist supervisors and production staff in troubleshooting manufacturing process issues through root cause analysis and permanent corrective actions.
- Conduct training, process planning, evaluate operational methods, and specify necessary tools, fixtures, and gauges to ensure consistent production of conforming products.
- Maintain the manufacturing engineering system regarding part routing and standards.
- Collaborate with area Product Team Leaders to uphold and enhance shop floor quality controls and best practices.
- Implement quality planning activities related to manufacturing.
- Pursue continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing quality and reducing costs in designated areas.
- Act as a change agent, guiding operations towards benchmarked, best-in-class performance.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering, or 4 years of Military Experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in Manufacturing or Engineering.

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Aerospace, or Materials from an accredited institution.
- Direct experience with metal machining processes or a strong educational background with a willingness to learn from experienced professionals.
- Experience in designing or improving machining tools and fixtures.
- Understanding of CNC machines and programming fundamentals.
- Ability to make data-driven decisions and apply Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and standards.
- Strong background in interpreting engineering drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with ISO and quality procedures.
