Job Summary

The Payroll Administrator is a key member of the Financial Operations team at TravelCenters of America, responsible for ensuring the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll records, taxes, and other employee deductions. This role requires strong analytical and organizational skills, as well as the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing: Responsible for the biweekly, weekly, or semi-monthly payroll processing cycle, including creating, balancing, and sending general ledger files for SAP posting.
  • Payroll Inquiries and Resolution: Assist field management and HQ departments with payroll inquiries and follow through to resolution of the issue.
  • Vendor Pay Card Issues: Provide problem resolution for vendor pay card issues for assigned locations.
  • Payroll Data Accuracy: Reconcile assigned accounts monthly and audit coworkers' employee data changes for accuracy.
  • Support Orders and Garnishments: Responsible for the accurate set up of support orders/garnishments with ADP.
  • Record Reconciliation and Payroll Data: Maintain payroll files and ensure accurate record reconciliation and payroll data.
Requirements
  • Education: High School degree or GED required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year payroll processing experience strongly preferred.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and organizational skills, proficient PC/spreadsheet skills, knowledge of wage & hour laws and FLSA, account reconciliation and general ledger experience, and previous hands-on work experience with an HRIS system such as PeopleSoft.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to use critical thinking skills in the interpretation of data, strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service, and excellent verbal and written communication skills.
