Role Summary:

The Registered Nurse possesses advanced expertise in the physiological, psychological, and therapeutic aspects pertinent to patients in an ambulatory setting. This role encompasses the delivery of patient care through a systematic nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, adhering to state regulations and standards set by the hospital and accrediting bodies.

The RN is tasked with guiding patient education and supervising ancillary staff while upholding professional nursing standards. Responsibilities also include mentoring new nursing staff, interpreting physician orders, and administering medications and intravenous therapies in compliance with federal and state laws. The RN is involved in chart audits and data collection for performance improvement initiatives required for hospital accreditation.

Minimum Qualifications:

Candidates must be graduates of an accredited nursing program and hold a valid registered nurse license in Arkansas. BLS and ACLS certifications are required upon hire or within six months. A minimum of three years of nursing experience is preferred, with knowledge in preoperative and postoperative care for adult and geriatric patients. Proficiency in English is necessary, along with the ability to remain seated or standing for extended periods. Flexibility in working hours is essential, and adherence to the staff RN job description is required.

Experience in medical, surgical, orthopedic, oncology, or renal nursing is advantageous, although new graduates will be considered. BLS certification is mandatory.
