Adjunct Professor, First Year Course Facilitator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Professor to teach our First Year Seminar course. As a professor at the University of the District of Columbia, you will play a crucial role in facilitating student success and academic growth.

About the Position:

  • Teach 10 credits per semester as assigned by the course schedule.
  • Provide engaging instructional activities, including lectures, class discussions, demonstrations, and projects.
  • Hold office hours for student conferences and maintain accurate records of attendance and grades.
  • Foster a supportive learning environment while maintaining classroom control.
  • Attend all meetings, ceremonies, and official functions specified by the Chief Community College Officer or Dean of Academic Affairs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Social/Behavioral Science or related field.
  • At least one year of teaching experience.
  • Two years of experience in counseling, academic advising, student affairs, social services, child welfare, or career services.

Salary and Benefits: This is a temporary part-time position with a salary range of $9500 - $19,000 per semester, depending on credit hours taught.
