Job Summary

As a Senior Financial Reporting Specialist I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial reporting processes. This position requires a strong understanding of financial reporting principles, internal control frameworks, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly balance sheet substantiation, including reviewing GL account owners and risk assessments, reconciliations, and following up with account owners to ensure timely completion.
  • Conduct End User Computing (EUC) workpaper reviews, identifying EUCs, updating inventory lists, performing risk assessments, implementing controls, and formulating EUC retirement plans.
  • Update Accounting's Policy and Procedures, maintaining inventory, following up with owners, and providing comments on procedural updates.
  • Facilitate internal control reviews, including Risk and Control Matrices, providing evidence for testing, and implementing controls to comply with Bank Holding Company requirements.
  • Perform allocated month-end tasks, such as posting journal entries and updating account reconciliations.
  • Prepare support workpapers for monthly regulatory reporting.
  • Assist in investigating reconciliation breaks and preparing daily reconciliations as needed.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting processes and internal control frameworks.
  • Understanding of securities broker-dealer business, financial products, and regulatory reporting (SEA 15c3-1).
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Visio).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong documentation and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with diplomacy and confidence.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Knowledge of Oracle GL suite is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Financial Services, with 2+ years of Financial Reporting experience.
  • BA/BS required, MA/MS/MBA preferred, and CPA preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle Cloud GL Suite, Broadridge Impact, and Alteryx.
