Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Summary:

As an Occupational Therapist at Ellenville Regional Hospital, you will play a vital role in maximizing patient functioning in life tasks. You will evaluate patients' abilities and needs, establishing a plan of care and goals to achieve the highest possible level of functional independence.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform initial evaluations, re-evaluations, and treatments of Swing Bed patients
2. Break down activities into achievable components, such as sequencing complex tasks like cooking a meal
3. Provide performance skills assessments and treatment, focusing on areas like grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, and dressing
4. Recommend adaptive equipment and provide usage training
5. Use creative media as therapeutic activities
6. Guide family members and caregivers
7. Perform environmental adaptation, including providing equipment or designing adaptations to remove obstacles
8. Develop a monthly activity calendar for the Swing Bed unit
9. Instruct patients on new ways to approach ADL tasks
10. Develop and maintain a clinical affiliation with local community colleges of Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant programs

Requirements:

• Hospital and inpatient rehab experience required
• Bachelor's Degree from an approved school of Occupational Therapy
• NYS OT License
• Current BLS Certification
