This role is integral to the EVERSANA/Applied Therapeutics "Family Access Manager" initiative.
The Patient Access Specialist (PAS) serves as a vital field-based representative within the Market Access Team.
The PAS will leverage company-sanctioned resources to deliver education and assistance to authorized prescribers and clinic personnel, concentrating on Applied Therapeutics sanctioned Patient Services initiatives.
In conjunction with this program, the PAS will also offer continuous education to patients, caregivers, and families regarding the payer landscape and pharmacy access channels.
The PAS will respect the independent clinical decision-making of the prescriber and will provide support only after a prescribing decision has been finalized.
Key Responsibilities of the PAS:
Act as the expert on the patient journey, effectively communicating the process to providers, staff, and, upon request, patients and caregivers.
Serve as the payer expert for both local and national plans, educating prescribers and staff on payer requirements and procedures, including prior authorizations, step-edits, appeals, and more.
Identify and assist in resolving any non-clinical logistical challenges that may hinder or delay patients from initiating or continuing their therapy.
Maintain familiarity with HIPAA regulations to safeguard all personal health information shared by patients and/or caregivers for specific support outlined in the patient enrollment documentation.
Provide educational materials to support the entire patient journey using approved company resources.
Offer reminder services to office personnel to ensure the appropriate continuation of therapy, provided the patient has opted into support services.
Exhibit the ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment while being energetic, positive, forward-thinking, and proactive.
