Ochsner Health System is seeking a skilled Audiologist to join our team in a part-time capacity. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for administering diagnostic audiological exams, counseling patients and families regarding test results, and reviewing options to meet their hearing healthcare needs.
Key Responsibilities- Diagnostic Audiology Services
- Assess auditory function in normal hearing and hearing-impaired patients of all ages.
- Communicate educational, medical, and diagnostic procedural information to patients and/or their families in a clear and concise manner.
- Audiological Evaluations
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic audiological evaluations, newborn hearing screenings, and otoacoustic emissions.
- Assess candidacy of patients with hearing loss for hearing aids and implantable devices and provide appropriate rehabilitation options.
- Facilitation and Support
- Facilitate departmental practice by scheduling and coordinating all appointment types.
- Assist in the orientation and training of new employees as assigned and attend appropriate in-services/education programs.
- Education
- Master's degree in Audiology or a Doctor of Audiology Doctorate (Au.D.) in the state of practice.
- Work Experience
- 1 year of experience in the audiology field.
- Certifications
- Current hearing aid license in the state of practice.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology, CCC-A from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
