Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers in patient examinations and procedures, ensuring a high level of patient satisfaction and care.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, and handling patient inquiries in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Prepare treatment rooms and equipment, ensuring cleanliness and functionality to maintain a safe and healthy environment for patients.
  • Educate patients about procedures, medications, and special diets under the supervision of healthcare providers, promoting patient-centered care and education.
  • Adhere to clinic policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines, maintaining confidentiality of patient information and following HIPAA regulations.
  • Collaborate effectively with healthcare team members to ensure efficient patient care delivery, promoting a positive and supportive team environment.
Requirements
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association, such as the American Association of Medical Assistants, American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, American Registry of Medical Assistants, or National Healthcare Association.
  • AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of medical assistant work experience within the last three (3) years, or no work experience if a graduate of a medical assistant program.
  • Previous experience using personal computers and various software applications, including Microsoft Office and email.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing strong organizational, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of previous experience as a Certified Medical Assistant.
  • Previous experience in an academic healthcare environment.
  • Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study, such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Working Conditions

This is a full-time position with regular clinic hours, occasional evenings or weekends may be required. Potential exposure to infectious diseases and hazardous materials. Physical demands include standing, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
