Job Summary

Fairstead is a purpose-driven real estate firm seeking a highly skilled Regulatory Affairs Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the regulatory compliance of our properties and maintaining accurate records.

Estimated Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year

Primary Responsibilities
  • Oversee compliance efforts to ensure adherence to HUD regulations and HPD guidelines.
  • Process recertifications for residents and calculate rents accordingly.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of applicant files to determine Section 8 eligibility.
  • Identify and resolve income reporting discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with residents to provide excellent customer service throughout the recertification process.
  • Develop and maintain accurate records of resident files and paperwork.
  • Regularly review tenant ledgers for arrears.
  • Investigate and correct income discrepancies in New York locations.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Deep understanding of Section 8, LIHTC, and HUD regulations.
  • Experience working with EIV reports.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • COS certification required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
