Position Overview:
DLZ Corporation is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineer to become a vital part of our team in Michigan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Acquire practical experience in the design of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems as well as plumbing systems.
- Conduct load calculations, life cycle cost analysis, and energy modeling.
- Collaborate effectively with various disciplines in a dynamic team setting.
- Ensure that the installation of designed systems adheres to construction documents.
- Manage multiple projects while adhering to established timelines.
- Engage in a diverse range of project types, scales, and complexities.
- Contribute to the technical production of projects.
- Work collaboratively with other design disciplines.
- Handle concurrent projects efficiently.
- Prepare comprehensive construction cost estimates.
- Assist in developing contract specifications and researching new procedures and products.
- Conduct all activities in a safe and responsible manner, following the Health and Safety Plan.
- Represent the company positively and uphold its core values.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
- This is an entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or candidates with up to three years of relevant experience.
- Familiarity with Revit software is advantageous.
- Experience in the design and analysis of HVAC and plumbing systems is preferred.
- Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) certification is required within six months of hire, with a focus on pursuing a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Experience with publicly-funded and municipal projects is a plus.
- Ability to safely navigate construction and project sites while adhering to all safety regulations.
