Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Wellpath. As a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing quality mental health care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, implement and evaluate individualized plans of care, and monitor medication and treatment protocols in accordance with established policies and procedures and state guidelines.
  • Document all relevant patient care issues, including observations and interventions, in progress notes and treatment plans that are problem-oriented, legible, and compliant with documentation requirements.
  • Provide individualized care and treatment that is culturally sensitive and age-appropriate, and participate in the psychiatric on-call schedule if required.
  • Adhere to established formulary procedures for therapeutic regimens, and support standards of psychiatric care through adherence to policies and procedures for admission and transfer, utilization review, and referrals.
  • Assume responsibility and accountability for individual judgments and actions, and provide input into mandatory committees as requested by superiors.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Graduation from an accredited nurse practitioner program.
  • Two (2) years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner. Psychiatric experience preferred and/or experience in a residential healthcare institution.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice highly desired.
  • Must maintain CPR certification, and any other certifications (such as First Aid) required by contract.
