Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to serve as the Coordinator, Sports Programs at North Carolina State University. This is a full-time, 12-month position that will provide leadership and management for the university's intramural sports and club sports programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and direction for the intramural sports program, including staffing, scheduling, and budgeting.
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures and guidelines for intramural sports and club sports programs.
  • Supervise and mentor student program assistants, supervisors, evaluators, officials, and scorekeepers.
  • Manage the club sports allocation process and develop a sustainable fee structure.
  • Develop and instruct the Club Officer Leadership Training and Development program.
  • Provide consultation and expert advice on best practices, industry trends, and emerging issues to the Assistant Director, Sports Programs and Wellness and Recreation leadership.
  • Manage sports-related external reservations and events for Wellness and Recreation.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in recreation, sports management, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • At least two years of experience with intramural sports and/or club sports program planning and implementation in a collegiate recreation environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with initiative, critical, and creative thinking.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate, develop partnerships, and work effectively as a member of a fast-paced, results-oriented team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in recreation, sports management, higher education administration, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience with intramural sports and/or club sports program planning and implementation in a collegiate recreation environment.
