As a Project Engineer at ManTech, you will collaborate with a team of talented engineers, focusing on space launch vehicle design and mission assurance.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver systems engineering expertise from our offices.
  • Specialize in areas such as Composites, Launch Vehicles, Cryogenic Systems, Mechanical Systems, Propellant Supply Systems, Solid Rocket Motors, ordnance, structures, and launch operations.
  • Lead Engineering Review Boards, conduct risk assessments, and provide technical recommendations.
  • Prepare comprehensive status and readiness review packages, including risk assessments and mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and review launch vehicle component and system designs, manufacturing processes, testing, and launch data.
  • Generate integrated technical evaluations on design, testing, manufacturing, and operational aspects.
  • Support acquisition activities, including requirements definition, RFPs, source selection, and data submissions.
  • Execute systems engineering tasks such as requirements definition, design reviews, test evaluations, and post-flight analyses.
  • Assist in preparing teams for rehearsals and launch operations, including managing anomaly resolution processes.
  • Oversee technical data management, including data mining and reporting.
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders, including Aerospace Corporation, Launch Vehicle Contractors, and production facilities.
  • Provide regular written evaluations and technical reports.
  • Act as an authority in Launch Vehicle Structures and Composite systems, supporting USSF customers in various engineering processes.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives for the ULA product line.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience in systems engineering or technical program management, with at least 3 years in launch or space systems project engineering.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with launch vehicle systems, including solid rocket motors, liquid propellant engines, ordnance, and hydraulics.
  • Understanding of USAF and NASA launch and range systems.
  • Experience in launch vehicle design, integration, testing, and anomaly resolution.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge of Atlas, Delta, and/or Vulcan system design and operations.
  • Experience with USSF, NRO, NASA, and related contractors.
  • Ability to assess design documentation and processes of propulsion systems.
  • Capability to work across multidisciplinary teams during design and testing phases.
  • Experience in conducting design reviews and failure analyses.
  • Strong collaboration skills with various aerospace entities.
  • Proficiency in operating data systems and providing training to support reporting and anomaly resolution.
  • Excellent communication skills for presenting technical information to senior engineers and management.
  • Experience with agile software tools, such as Jira/Confluence, is highly desirable.
  • Competency in MS Office and information technology systems.

CLEARANCE:

This position requires a Secret clearance. Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain this clearance.

TRAVEL:

Frequent travel may be required to support launch operations and meetings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to remain stationary for extended periods.
  • Occasional movement within the office environment.
  • Frequent use of office productivity tools and communication with team members.
