Job Title: IRP-Therapeutic Recreation Spec (HS)

The Recreational Therapist plays a vital role in the psychiatric inpatient treatment setting, providing therapeutic opportunities for individual patients and/or groups to develop and practice healthy leisure/recreational/sport activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accepts recreational therapy referrals and provides therapeutic services, including assessment, intervention, program planning and implementation.
  • Assists with discharge planning and provides related documentation in collaboration with the interdisciplinary treatment team.
  • Maintains knowledge related to patient care issues, performance improvement and cost reduction, current policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Completes annual education and health requirements and maintains current CTRS certification.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Therapeutic Recreation from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
  • Certification as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist through the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification preferred.
