Custodian I

The YMCA of Pierce and Kitsap Counties is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of our facilities. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our members and staff.

• Interior Cleaning: Perform daily interior cleaning tasks, including vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing surfaces, to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
• Supply Management: Restock soap, towels, and other supplies as needed to ensure a smooth operation.
• Event Support: Assist other departments and branches as needed for ongoing or special events, ensuring seamless execution.
• Reporting and Maintenance: Record and report all needed repairs and additional cleaning needs on the assignment list, and report incidents and hazardous conditions to the supervisor.
• Security and Safety: Ensure the YMCA building and property are secure during shift, and report any incidents or hazardous conditions to the supervisor.

• Equipment Operation: Learn and practice the safe and correct operation of assigned equipment to perform required tasks.
• Cleaning Techniques: Learn and practice the correct procedures and techniques used in cleaning the facility.
• Communication and Reporting: Read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents, and report and record maintenance requests.
• Knowledge and Skills: Possess knowledge of cleaning methods and custodial, maintenance, and office equipment, and have a basic understanding of equipment upkeep and care.

• Competitive Pay: Earn $16.80 to $18.80 per hour, depending on qualifications.
