Job Title: Bookkeeper

The Bookkeeper will be a key member of our finance team at Channel Fish Processing Co Inc, responsible for ensuring timely and accurate payment for goods & services received to vendors, managing the customer billing process, and assisting the Controller with month-end close and other accounting activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Match PO's to Vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy of goods received and payment amounts, and investigating variances with buyers
  • Match bills of lading, PO's and invoices, and code to correct accounts & departments
  • Ensure all discretionary invoices are approved by department managers
  • Actively review AP Aging as well as POs received but not invoiced reports to ensure accounts are paid within agreed terms
  • Lead weekly check/ACH payment run process, coordinating approvals with management
  • Manage vendor records and files
  • Compile and submit 1099's annually
  • Assist with reconciliation of storage bills to inventory prior to payments
  • Assist in projects as needed
  • Process customer sales orders for billing once shipping documents are received
  • Review Orders for proper GM recognition, and resolve any variances
  • Issue & track Credit Memos on returned products or pricing discrepancies
  • Assist with accounting month-end close as needed
Requirements:
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational ability
  • Strong team player, willingness to help out when needed
  • Effective professional communications skills
  • Effective problem-solving skills with other departments
  • Ability to consistently meet all deadlines
  • Ability to use Microsoft Excel and Word programs

Minimum 3-4 days per week in office, some remote work is allowed per management discretion.
