Zurich Insurance Company Ltd. is currently in search of a Senior Underwriter for Construction Professional Liability to enhance our construction division. This role can be based in our Philadelphia office or performed remotely.
As a Senior Underwriter, you will be responsible for evaluating and underwriting both new and renewal accounts, operating under limited supervision. You will utilize The Zurich Way of Underwriting Framework within your delegated authority on complex assignments, ensuring exceptional service delivery to our clients. This position is market-facing, requiring a strong sales-oriented mindset to effectively manage a designated territory and cultivate robust relationships with brokers.
Essential Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles.
OR - High School Diploma or Equivalent with at least 10 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 3 years of experience in Underwriting or Market Facing roles.
OR - Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice with an Associate Degree and 8 years of experience in Claims or Underwriting Support.
AND - Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience in managing time-sensitive quotes for new and renewal business.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree.
- In-depth knowledge of the Construction Professional Liability sector.
- Established relationships with brokers.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Compensation for positions at Zurich varies based on numerous factors, including office location, role, skill set, and experience level. Zurich provides a reasonable compensation range for roles, as required by local law. Additional rewards may include short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. The starting salary range for this position is $115,000 to $165,000.
