RCIS Crop Claims Specialist or Crop Claims Senior Specialist

Zurich is currently looking for a to join our Rural Community Insurance Services (RCIS) team. RCIS is one of the leading crop insurance providers in the U.S. RCIS offers insurance protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 3,600 licensed agents. RCIS offers a wide range of private product coverages, including a diverse selection of named-peril options, supplemental and stand-alone insurance products as well as federal crop insurance plans through the United States Department of Agriculture’s Risk Management Agency. Together with RCIS agents, we protect America’s farmers and ranchers. This position will work virtually out of their home in Northwest Kansas. We are looking for someone in one of the following countries: Logan, Gove, Sheridan, Thomas, Graham, Trego, Sherman, Cheyenne, Rawlins, and Ellis. The selected candidate will with moderate direction investigate, evaluate and conclude complex field inspections by following appropriate regulatory and company rules and procedures to ensure that claims are handled in the most effective, efficient way while delivering a customer-centric claims service. They will also provide support to Area Claims Managers either as a CAT team member or local claims specialist in the facilitation of general day to day operations and claims management. In addition, the selected candidate will support the lower level adjusting staff by completing and/or providing training and assistance with complex claims.  Travel required at least 50% of the time for 2 week periods of time. If you are ready for a career move, consider working for a company with a global footprint that offers terrific benefits including an incentive plan, 401K match and a second 401K company contribution, flexible work options, summer hours, an excellent work/life balance and a great culture. Additional responsibilities will include: Completes high dollar/quality assurance type claim reviews for Crop Hail/Named Peril with $250K and above approval limitsExercise judgement to determine liability by gathering and analyzing relevant facts; utilizing applicable proceduresExercise judgment to determine policy verification and coverage determination by analyzing applicable coverage for claims and determining whether the loss falls within the coverageParticipates in Risk Management Agency initiated reviews and referrals for sake of operations integrity and quality assuranceAssist managers in assignment of work and ability to serve as an interim manager in Area Claims Manager's absence. Individuals in this role are granted the same electronic authorization and systems views as that of local managementAssists as a drone fleet team lead and technical advisor for the assigned areaAssists with agent and farmer meetings/trainingsAll national CAT team adjusters hold the expertise and authority to serve as an onsite team leader or interim managerMay receive a team lead assignment as deemed necessary by the local manager due to workload or other extenuating circumstancesAuthorized to monitor and determine delayed claim dispositionAdminister/proctor Crop Adjuster Proficiency Program exams for new adjustersProtect Zurich’s reputation by keeping claims information confidentialMaintain professional and technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, staying current with industry trends, establishing personal networks.
