Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform peripheral vascular, venous reflux, and carotid imaging in accordance with lab protocols and standard practices.
  • Assist physicians during vein center procedures, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Review inpatient requisitions, prioritize patient lists, and revise schedules as necessary to ensure efficient use of resources.
  • Perform quality control checks, maintain equipment, and ensure the procurement and storage of supplies.
  • Review patient information, order exams, and confirm diagnoses, requesting clarification when necessary.
  • Download examination images and data into the PACS system, entering findings upon completion of exams.
  • Mentor and evaluate ultrasound students as required, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Communicate technical and patient care information according to established processes and timelines.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED equivalency required.
  • Successful completion of a CAAHEP-approved school of ultrasound or cardiovascular technology, or equivalent experience.
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) in or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI), or certification within one year of hire date.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification obtained through the American Heart Association (AHA) required upon hire.
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of diagnostic ultrasound principles, concepts, and methodology sufficient to perform high-quality diagnostic studies.
  • Ability to identify images, recognize vascular structures, and tailor exam scope as dictated by pathology.
  • Knowledge of vascular cross-sectional anatomy and pathophysiology, ultrasound physics, and instrumentation.
  • Ability to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot cardiovascular equipment.
