Job Description:
The Senior Accountant will oversee revenue accounting processes across multiple products and segments. This role requires expertise in revenue recognition, analytical skills, and complex accounting tasks management in a dynamic environment. The ideal candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Revenue Operations:
    • Manage billing and revenue recognition process for multiple products, ensuring GAAP and other relevant accounting standards compliance.
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly journal entries and general ledger reconciliations associated with revenue, deferred revenue, unbilled liabilities, and cost accounts.
    • Review and interpret contracts to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
    • Work with sales, sales operation, and AR collection team to ensure proper documentation of revenue transactions.
    • Work with business operations team to ensure that commissions are calculated correctly across segments.
    • Analyze revenue trends and variances, providing insights and recommendations to management.
  • Compliance and Controls:
    • Develop and maintain internal controls related to revenue recognition and reporting.
    • Assist in implementing and documenting accounting policies and procedures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with sales, legal, and product teams to review and interpret customer contracts.
    • Provide guidance to business units on revenue recognition matters and accounting implications.
    • Collaborate with IT to ensure revenue systems and processes are aligned with accounting requirements.
  • Systems and Data Integrity:
    • Partner cross-functionally with Content Acquisition, Ad Sales/Online Media, and Engineering to implement best practices, automation, and continuous process improvements.
    • Help deploy software projects impacting revenue accounting, such as enhancements to the billing system, ERP implementation, new reporting tools, and other system transformation projects.
