Senior Financial Analyst

Are you a skilled financial professional looking for a challenging role in a dynamic organization? We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Analyst to join our team. As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the AWS Compute business by providing thought leadership, analyzing complex financial data, and making strategic recommendations to drive business growth.

Key responsibilities of this position include owning P&Ls, performing usage and revenue analyses for new and existing services, delivering ad-hoc business projects and analyses, conducting usage and revenue planning, and providing financial insights to support business decisions. You will also collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance management, service general managers, product managers, engineering leaders, sales and business development leadership to achieve common goals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role. They will possess excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, they will have experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools, such as SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos, Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)
  • 3+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Preferred qualifications include an MBA or CPA, as well as advanced use of SQL for data mining and business intelligence.
