Position Overview

The Chief Technology Operations Officer is responsible for the strategic management, optimization, and oversight of Gulf Winds' technical operations. This role ensures the highest levels of availability, performance, integrity, and security across all applications, user equipment, systems, core processing, and technology infrastructure.

The position oversees the Incident Response function and the maintenance of all established Service Level Agreements (SLAs). The Chief Technology Operations Officer remains informed about evolving technologies and skills relevant to the role, driving process improvements, workflow optimization, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the Technology Operations Department, overseeing all production-supporting technical services.
  • Ensure effective maintenance and support of the core member database through regular processing cycles.
  • Conduct technology-related security audits and manage Disaster Recovery preparedness.
  • Engage in strategic planning and resource allocation as part of the Credit Union's Senior Team.
  • Direct technology initiatives and perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Metrics:

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for interviewing candidates, planning, assigning, directing, and evaluating team performance, and conducting performance reviews. You will ensure that all team members are cross-trained to maintain service levels and that system updates are applied promptly.

Additionally, you will oversee the Change Advisory Board (CAB) and communicate operations-impacting changes to the enterprise, ensuring all modifications are thoroughly tested before implementation.

Qualifications:
  • Five to eight years of experience in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of core processing systems, databases, virtualization, server administration, networking, cybersecurity, and telecommunications.
  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent industry-recognized certifications, with a master's degree being a plus.

Interpersonal Skills: This role requires a high level of trust and diplomacy, involving extensive personal contact and the ability to motivate and influence others.

Other Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, resource management, and communication abilities are essential. The ability to discuss technical issues with both technical and non-technical stakeholders is crucial.

Physical Requirements: This position involves light physical exertion, primarily sitting at a computer for extended periods.
