About the Role

Greater Omaha Packing is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join our team as a key member of our Human Resources department. In this role, you will be responsible for providing a wide range of HR support and advice to plant personnel, including recruitment, terminations, performance management, employee relations, and HR best practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ">
  • Implement and administer employee policies to ensure compliance with company procedures and industry regulations;">
  • Provide high-quality advice and service to management on daily employee relations and performance management issues;">
  • Support the HR department in implementing retention programs to help improve the employee experience;">
  • Offer proactive recruiting assistance to identify and attract top talent;">
  • Administer and support talent management programs and HR initiatives that require field implementation and facilitation;">
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with employment agencies to ensure the selection of the most qualified candidates for Greater Omaha Packing;">
  • Identify ways to improve policies and procedures to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness;">
  • Manage the administration of FMLA/ADA compliance for the facility; ">
  • Administration of employee benefits, including health, dental, and vision coverage;">
  • Lead investigations and recommend actions according to policies, laws, and regulations;">
  • Train and provide support to HR team members in their duties;">
  • Be the primary backup for the HR Manager; ">
  • Assist in recruiting trips and travel as needed to organize job fairs; ">
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures to ensure compliance;">

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management or a related discipline and at least 2 years of experience in HR. You should possess expertise in HR policies and procedures, a strong understanding of HR best practices and current regulations, and excellent communication skills. Additionally, you should be proficient in MS Office suite and have the ability to manage priorities and dynamic deadlines.
