Role Overview: Sales Engineer for the Northwest USA Territory
As a key player in the mining industry, you will be part of a renowned brand striving for excellence. We understand that our success relies on having dedicated, skilled, and engaged employees.
This position is focused on enhancing the sales of our aftermarket mining product line within the designated USA/Canadian territory. You will operate as an individual contributor within our collaborative team structure, reporting directly to the Director of Sales for the USA West Region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct sales calls and engage with customers to promote our aftermarket parts, services, and modernization solutions.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, fostering strong relationships characterized by exceptional service.
- Formulate and execute sales strategies to boost market share, creating compelling value propositions and ROI to distinguish FLSmidth.
- Provide both pre-sales and post-sales technical support and product training.
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize sales opportunities and prepare proposals.
- Visit customer sites to consult on equipment operations, replacement needs, and upcoming projects.
- Maintain detailed account plans for key clients.
- Manage expenses in alignment with budgetary targets while adhering to established guidelines.
- Regularly update CRM systems with relevant contacts, appointments, and sales opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 4 years in sales within the mining sector.
- Required: Experience in the mining equipment industry , with the ability to interpret technical drawings, manuals, and parts lists.
- Proactive approach with strong communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively, with approximately 70% of time spent visiting customer sites in various industries.
- Preferred residence in a major airport location within the territory.
- Focus on supporting key accounts in core mining areas and adjacent industries.
- Direct experience and knowledge of these markets within the region is advantageous.
