Job Summary:

Veit is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team. As a Heavy Equipment Operator, you will be responsible for operating heavy machinery and equipment on construction sites, ensuring safe and efficient operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, and cranes to excavate, move, and grade earth, erect structures, or pour concrete.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with project foremen, superintendents, and other team members to ensure project goals are met.
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adhere to company safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; six to twelve months of operating construction equipment experience preferred.
  • Considerable knowledge of heavy equipment operating principles and safety procedures.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing project requirements.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.
