Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled High Voltage Electrical Specialist to join our team at UC Davis Health System. As a key member of our electrical systems maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing journey-level high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage trade skills in areas of construction, renovation & maintenance, mechanical/electrical operations, and preventative maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • 60% - Construction, Renovation, & Maintenance
  • 20% - Mechanical/Electrical Operations
  • 20% - Preventative Maintenance
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Possess a certificate of completion from a recognized union apprenticeship program, University apprenticeship program, accredited trade school, or have the equivalent amount of experience and training comparable to a journey level craftsperson in the high voltage and medium voltage electrical trade.
    • Journey level knowledge and experience in the medium and high voltage electrical trade and related practices to perform assigned duties without direct supervision.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Skill to fabricate, maintain, service, repair, replace, install, and/or alter medium and high voltage electrical equipment and other campus systems related to craft.
    • Skill to inspect and perform preventive maintenance program on electrical trade equipment and other campus systems.
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
    • Skill to provide clearly written and understandable reports and instructions.
    • Analytical skill to understand and interpret technical data and mechanical and structural specifications and blueprints.
    • Customer service skills.
    • Computer skills to operate a personal computer.
    • Organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of approved safety devices and practices.
    Working Conditions
    • Climb ladders, on top of machinery and equipment, crawl, stoop, bend, and work in tight, cramped areas.
    • Lift equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. or heavier.
