Position:
Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist - Full Time/38 hours per week, 10 hour shifts with a 30-minute meal break. Variable schedule from Monday to Friday. Candidates with scrub experience in related fields are preferred. Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.

Overview:

The Invasive Cardiovascular Specialist operates specialized equipment under the supervision of a qualified physician, conducting procedures that lead to accurate diagnoses and effective treatments for heart conditions, ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist medical personnel by employing sterile techniques during all invasive cardiovascular procedures, including angioplasty, while preparing necessary surgical materials.
  2. Monitor patients' hemodynamic status and ECG, collecting and entering vital information into monitoring systems, and generating reports post-procedure.
  3. Conduct pre-procedure interviews to gather medical histories, review lab results, educate patients and families, and secure informed consent.
  4. Prepare the cath lab for testing, ensuring all equipment is calibrated and quality checks are performed daily.
  5. Position patients correctly, connect monitoring devices, perform ECGs, and document all actions in medical records.
  6. Assist cardiologists with arterial closure devices, demonstrating competence in sheath removal and achieving hemostasis.
  7. Serve as a resource for staff regarding the use and troubleshooting of complex technical equipment.
  8. Collect data for relevant cardiac registries.
  9. Engage in additional duties as required, including inventory management, quality improvement initiatives, patient transport, and evaluating new products.
  10. Be available for on-call duties as scheduled for emergency procedures.
  11. Meet organizational standards for quality, service, teamwork, and community engagement.
  12. Adhere to all compliance responsibilities associated with the role.
  13. Perform other assigned tasks as necessary.

Qualifications:

Required:
High school diploma or GED. Basic computer skills and proficiency in interpreting EKGs and hemodynamic pressure readings. Experience in endovascular, interventional, and diagnostic procedures.

Minimum Experience:
One year.

Credentials:
Required:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support and Basic Life Support certifications.

Desired:
Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification preferred. Knowledge of permanent pacemaker and defibrillator implants is advantageous. Nuvance Health is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified applicants with disabilities.
