About the Role

The Evidence Custodian is a critical position within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), responsible for the receipt, storage, and disposal of seized evidence. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and processing seized evidence from special agents and diversion investigators
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks, including monitoring evidence inventory levels and movements
  • Creating and reviewing evidence inventory reports
  • Arranging for the disposition, destruction, or return of evidence
  • Utilizing various software systems to generate working documents and forms
  • Providing regulatory and procedural guidance to personnel on evidence control issues
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-06 Federal grade level performing seized evidence control duties
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
Working Conditions

The Evidence Custodian position is located in the DEA's Laredo, TX, and McKees Rocks, PA, divisions. The selected candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and may be required to travel up to 25% of the time.
