About the RoleThe DEA is seeking a highly skilled Evidence Custodian to join our team. As an Evidence Custodian, you will play a critical role in the handling and management of evidence, ensuring that it is properly stored, secured, and disposed of in accordance with established guidelines.
Key Responsibilities- Receiving and processing seized evidence from special agents and diversion investigators
- Performing day-to-day administrative tasks, including processing paperwork and monitoring evidence inventory levels
- Creating and reviewing evidence inventory reports
- Arranging for the disposition, destruction, or return of evidence
- Utilizing software to generate working documents and forms
- Providing regulatory and procedural guidance to personnel on evidence control issues
- One year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-06 Federal grade level
- Experience performing seized evidence control duties, including receiving, documenting, cataloging, storing, retrieving, maintaining, and disposing of evidence
- Experience monitoring and verifying evidence inventory/storage and movement using automated evidence tracking systems
