About the Role

The DEA is seeking a highly skilled Evidence Custodian to join our team. As an Evidence Custodian, you will play a critical role in the handling and management of evidence, ensuring that it is properly stored, secured, and disposed of in accordance with established guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receiving and processing seized evidence from special agents and diversion investigators
  • Performing day-to-day administrative tasks, including processing paperwork and monitoring evidence inventory levels
  • Creating and reviewing evidence inventory reports
  • Arranging for the disposition, destruction, or return of evidence
  • Utilizing software to generate working documents and forms
  • Providing regulatory and procedural guidance to personnel on evidence control issues
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience equivalent to at the GS-06 Federal grade level
  • Experience performing seized evidence control duties, including receiving, documenting, cataloging, storing, retrieving, maintaining, and disposing of evidence
  • Experience monitoring and verifying evidence inventory/storage and movement using automated evidence tracking systems
