Job Description

At Karl Gross Logistics (USA), Inc., we are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Freight Broker Agent to join our team.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Build and expand existing carrier relationships with management directions.
  • Verify carriers meet corporate safety, operational, and quality requirements.
  • Create and maintain carrier profiles.
  • Negotiate pricing with carriers.
  • Perform inside sales, including quoting trucking costs and international seafreight/airfreight import/export costs.
  • Cover loads for daily import/export shipments.
  • Sign the company up on load boards and actively post loads and contact carriers to cover loads in a timely manner.
  • Send and receive all proper documentation before releasing loads to carriers.
  • Set up new carriers in our system and keep them on file.
  • Data input and logging files.

Requirements:

  • High school degree required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in active truck brokerage (required), with a preference for import/export operation experience.
  • Strong understanding of the truck brokerage market and DOT regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask.
  • Able to work well in a team.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Experience in using and navigating CargoSoft software is a plus.
  • Attention to detail and excellent oral and written skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
