The Role


We are seeking a skilled Accountant with a robust understanding of property management and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to become a vital part of our finance and accounting team.

The Accountant will oversee the monthly and year-end closing processes, generate monthly financial statements, reconcile general ledger accounts, and contribute to enhancing our operational processes.

This position requires full-time office presence.

Responsibilities and Duties

1. Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow statements for various properties and business units.


2. Manage the financial closing process, ensuring accuracy across multiple companies and their respective general ledger accounts, including monthly reconciliations in a multi-entity environment.

3. Facilitate the transition of our accounting system to Yardi.

4. Drive process improvements, implement system enhancements, and establish refined policies and procedures within your areas of responsibility.


5. Support the CFO and Corporate Controller by conducting analyses and generating reports for senior management, including expense variance analysis, financial reviews, and budget preparation.


6. Utilize critical thinking skills in operational, financial, and transactional analyses to identify and resolve any issues that may arise during daily operations and the month-end closing process.

Qualifications and Skills

- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution is required.

- Experience with Yardi is highly regarded. Background in property management accounting is also beneficial.

- A minimum of 3 years of experience in preparing, analyzing, and reporting financial data.

- A high level of professionalism in managing sensitive and/or confidential information.

- Strong proficiency in accounting principles and general ledger entries and reconciliations.

- Proven ability to deliver results within time-sensitive environments.
