Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Worker to join our team at Park Veterinary Hospital & Urgent Care in Durham, NC. As a key member of our animal care team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch care to our hospitalized and boarded animals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compassionate care to patients, including feeding, cleaning, and grooming
  • Receive and release animals to their owners, ensuring they are clean and properly groomed
  • Follow a regular schedule for cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, and wards
  • Feed animals as prescribed by the attending doctor and record appetite
  • Bathe and groom animals as directed by the doctor
  • Collect urine and fecal specimens as directed by the doctor
  • Recognize and record any unusual conditions or abnormal behavior
  • Assist doctors, nurses, and technicians with medication administration and restraint
  • Maintain cleanliness in kitchen and other relevant areas of the hospital

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to comprehend oral and written directions
  • Collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Passion for animal care
