Responsibilities

Job Summary: Build and maintain relationships with key clinics within the HonorHealth Network to identify and fulfill customer needs.

Oversee the daily operations of the specialty pharmacy, ensuring effective workflow management, clinical patient management, and adherence to policies and procedures. Maintain compliance with regulatory and accrediting bodies while managing pharmacy sales, expenses, and inventory through precise prescription filling and exceptional customer service.


Operations:

Manage the daily functions of the specialty pharmacy, ensuring accurate prescription filling and providing efficient service to patients and healthcare providers.

Supervise compliance with standards set by accrediting bodies and report any errors immediately, adhering to policies related to prescription incidents and quality improvement.

Maintain required records and documentation in accordance with federal, state, and accrediting regulations. Implement asset protection controls to minimize profit loss and ensure a safe and compliant pharmacy environment.

Manage the pharmacy's cash operations, including daily cash reports and other financial records.

Ensure proper operation and maintenance of pharmacy systems and equipment, addressing any third-party rejection issues promptly.

Control inventory by following drug purchase procedures and making recommendations for ordering supplies.

Perform additional duties as assigned.


Patient Experience:

Ensure that pharmacy staff deliver courteous and efficient service, responding to customer inquiries and complaints to enhance the overall image of the specialty pharmacy.


People and Performance Management:

Supervise pharmacy staff to ensure compliance with required functions and adherence to policies.

Confirm that all employees are trained on essential functions related to payer and pharmaceutical contractual requirements.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the network.


Training and Personal Development:

Regularly assess personal performance and set objectives for improvement. Stay informed about developments in pharmacy and healthcare that relate to job responsibilities.


Communication:

Maintain effective working relationships with healthcare professionals and collaborate with pharmacy staff.

Act as a consultant regarding pharmaceutical therapies and provide evidence-based recommendations.

Participate in the education and training of new pharmacy employees and interns.

Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in Community Pharmacy.

Licenses and Certifications: Registered Pharmacist (RPh) upon hire; willingness to obtain and maintain licensure in states other than Arizona.
