The Carolina Youth Development Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Manager to oversee the upkeep and maintenance of our physical campuses. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in facilities management, project management, and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Maintenance Schedules: Create and maintain a schedule for providing preventative and ongoing maintenance to all building and ground areas on campus, including HVAC units, electrical fixtures and equipment, plumbing, windows, carpentry, drywall, and painting.
- Respond to Maintenance Issues: Respond to immediate needs and oversee the work to complete maintenance issues generated through the work order system.
- Supervise Custodial Staff: Supervise the custodial position and develop and oversee a schedule to clean and maintain all Landmarks for Families buildings, including ground areas on campus.
- Manage Maintenance Supplies and Vendors: Develop and maintain a cost-effective inventory of maintenance supplies as well as a vendor list of subcontracted professionals.
- Perform Inspections and Generate Reports: Perform weekly and monthly inspections ensuring that the corresponding paperwork is completed, including inspections of all areas relevant to annual relicensing and reaccreditation.
- Ensure Automotive Maintenance: Ensure the completion of automotive maintenance on agency vehicles, including changing the oil, air filters, hoses, tires, and other related items as needed.
- Support USDA Inspections: Provide and support USDA required inspections and paperwork, teaming with other staff members to provide a cohesive package to the USDA.
- Oversee Outside Contractors: Oversee outside contractors to ensure the required work is performed timely and on a satisfactory basis, evaluating effectiveness and efficiencies of outside contractors and periodically bidding out services.
- Education and Training: Two-year Associate's degree preferred, depending on experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, project management, and team leadership.
- Skills: Advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, basic electrical systems, basic plumbing, carpentry, and automotive maintenance knowledge. Program management and project management skills required. General construction background and sub-contractor management experience needed.
- Certifications and Background Checks: Candidates are required to complete a criminal background check through the State of South Carolina and Federal Bureau of Investigation, and pass scheduled and/or random drug tests.
