Job Summary

As a Radiologic Technologist III at Kaiser Permanente, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. You will operate radiographic equipment to produce high-quality images of the body, ensuring optimal diagnostic quality of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and obtain cooperation
  • Prepare and position patients for diagnostic imaging procedures
  • Adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimum views of specified areas of the body
  • Determine exposure factors based on patient height, weight, and body portion involved
  • Operate mobile radiologic equipment in operating rooms, emergency rooms, or at patients' bedsides
  • Assist radiologists and other qualified physicians in fluoroscopic and special x-ray examinations
  • Prepare images for reading by radiologists or requesting physicians
  • Process images and review for proper identification and quality control
  • Perform routine maintenance, diagnose malfunctions, and make minor repairs on radiologic equipment
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patients and staff
  • Complete forms and maintain records, logs, and reports of work performed
  • Orient new hires and train students
Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years continuous experience as a Radiologic Technologist
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Venipuncture Certificate (California)
  • Radiologic Technologist Certificate (California)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist - Fluoroscopy Certificate (California)
  • Basic Life Support
