POSITION SUMMARY:

This role is a full-time exempt position dedicated to supporting the ARNG Mission Command Training Support Program (MCTSP), Mission Training Complexes (MTCs), and various DOD installations. The Space & Special Technical Operations (SSTO) team will provide instruction, guidance, and mentorship to ARNG Division and Brigade Commanders and their staff in the effective integration of Space Operations and Integrated Joint Special Technical Operations (IJSTO) within the context of Joint Multi-Domain Operations (JMDO) and Decisive Action Training Environment (DATE).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the SSTO representative within the Movement and Maneuver Warfighting Function (WFF) and serve as the principal SSTO staff member for Higher Command (HICOM).
  • Provide training and coaching to synchronize SSTO efforts with U.S. Space Command, National Technical Means, and the U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) to support division objectives.
  • Facilitate the integration, monitoring, and provision of space support for operations related to targeting, navigation, intelligence collection, GPS and SATCOM interference resolution, personnel recovery, and understanding space operational impacts.
  • Oversee the Division's IJSTO and Alternative Compensatory Control Measures (ACCM) programs, ensuring effective employment of these capabilities in joint operations.
  • Participate in a tactical battle rhythm that includes key HICOM meetings, boards, and working groups to enhance training unit Mission Command processes.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of Air Tasking Orders (ATO), Operational Summaries (OPSUMS), and various operational plans and orders.
  • Generate and distribute all Joint Exercise Lifecycle (JELC) products in both analog and digital formats through appropriate Command and Control Information Systems (C2IS).
  • Coordinate and manage HICOM augmenters provided by the training unit's State JFHQ or sister units.
  • Contribute to informal and formal exercise After Action Reviews.
  • Integrate SSTO into overarching operational scenarios, including higher headquarters TACSOPS, PSOPS, and KM SOPS.
  • Assist in developing a Master Scenario Events List (MSEL) for training objectives requiring manual injects.
  • Support pre-exercise staff exercises (STAFFEX) to train Commanders and Staff in various operational processes and methodologies.
  • Prepare all JELC-related products to ensure comprehensive replication and immersion of the training audience in a Multi-Domain Operational Environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience in the Army (active, reserve, or National Guard) with at least two (2) years in exercise planning using the JELC process.
  • Senior Army leadership experience with a background in training management and Combat Training Center experience.
  • Experience serving as a Division SSTO (minimum of 2 years) or Corps/JTF SSTO (minimum of 2 years).
  • Preferred experience includes command at the Battalion level (Brigade level command is a plus).
  • Expertise in large-scale live and constructive exercises, with familiarity in Army Command and Control Information Systems.

EDUCATION:

Master's degree (MS or MA) in any field. Graduation from a military Senior Service College is preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and meet other eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
