Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a senior project manager or team leader for complex and significant work activities.
  • Act as a senior technical authority representing the FAA in major agency initiatives, emerging technologies, and customer concerns.
  • Establish and manage program goals and objectives, formulating project plans and ensuring compliance with organizational policies.
  • Collaborate with high-level internal and external stakeholders to resolve intricate issues, safeguarding the integrity of the NAS.
  • Coordinate with various air traffic entities to manage the shutdown and restoration of facilities and systems, minimizing disruptions to air traffic operations.
  • Provide agency-wide leadership for challenging technical activities, employing innovative strategies to resolve persistent problems.

Expertise and Leadership: The incumbent maintains the authority to allocate necessary resources to fulfill the agency's mission. They develop creative strategies to achieve organizational objectives while optimizing resource utilization. This role requires independent work, monitoring nationwide trend data to devise sustainable solutions for the NAS.

Operational Risk Management: Integrate Operational Risk Management (ORM) into restoration and maintenance activities, ensuring all customers and users are involved in the planning process.

Qualifications: Candidates must demonstrate specialized experience equivalent to FV-I, FG/GS-13 in the Federal Service, showcasing extensive knowledge in technology system interrelationships and management of aviation systems.

Additional Information: This position may require a background investigation and is subject to the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program.
