Job Summary:

The Telecommunications Engineer 3 position at M.C. Dean, Inc. involves designing, coordinating, and specifying telecommunication distribution systems and infrastructure for medium to large projects. The engineer will oversee the project throughout the entire project lifecycle, assisting with construction issues, scheduling, and budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and coordinate telecommunication distribution systems and infrastructure.
  • Produce detailed design drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinate communication outlet types, configurations, and locations.
  • Develop project specifications and manage cable lists.
  • Assist with construction issues, scheduling, and budget.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in the telecommunications infrastructure industry with a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of TIA standards and NFPA Codes.
  • Ability to work independently and lead in a team environment.
  • Must be willing to expand knowledge base to new systems and technologies as project demand dictates.
  • Must achieve BICSI RCDD credential within one year of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BICSI RCDD certification.
  • Experience working with Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) or Building Information Management (BIM) systems.
  • Working knowledge of active communication systems.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to computer screens for an extended period of time.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Reach by extending hands or arms in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity to manipulate objects with fingers rather than whole hands or arms.
