Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the Public Art Project Manager III to conceptualize and implement public art installations throughout the city, focusing on priority areas established by City leadership.
- Bridge the planning, design, art, history, and development activities within the Office of Design and the Department of City Planning.
- Support the programs and events of the Office of Design, including increasing Department-wide and external partner programming of the Atlanta City Studio.
- Current knowledge of urban design, community development, community outreach, event planning, and public art.
- Local government administrative procedures, urban design, public art, and planning procedures.
- Preparation of graphics, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and software to visualize and present design projects.
- Community development, public art, and urban planning research skills, including field inspections, computer searches, and archive searches.
- Oral communication and interpersonal relationships to explain and promote projects, programs, and events to the public.
This is an experienced, professional-level position that requires independent work and collaboration with the team. The Urban Planner II reports to the Director of the Office of Design and receives general direction, focusing on end results and collaborative work.
