We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at the Michigan State Government. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, maintain, repair, and inspect mechanical equipment and electrical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration, and security equipment.
  • Maintain grounds in a large physical plant complex, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.
  • Install, maintain, and repair air compressors and other air conditioning equipment using specialized tools and techniques.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as lubricating equipment, replacing filters, and checking fluid levels.
  • Collaborate with other maintenance staff to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, and security systems.
  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
