POSITION SUMMARY

As a vital member of our team, the Café Service Associate is responsible for delivering exceptional service to our guests while ensuring a welcoming and efficient environment. This role encompasses a variety of tasks that contribute to the overall guest experience.

REPORTS TO:

Food and Beverage Manager

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Prior experience in a café or food service setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Experience with cash handling is beneficial.
  • Must possess a neat appearance and a strong commitment to customer service.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Basic math skills for handling transactions.
  • Good auditory and visual capabilities, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Must be attentive to guest needs.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage inventory for the coffee bar and grab-and-go market, assisting with ordering as necessary.
  • Restock sandwiches, snacks, and beverages in the market area.
  • Deliver guest orders promptly, including specialty beverages and breakfast items.
  • Operate coffee and espresso machines efficiently.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions accurately.
  • Close out the register and balance cash drawers.
  • Maintain cleanliness of counters, tables, and service areas.
  • Complete daily requisitions for food, beverage, and supplies.
  • Ensure a tidy and organized workspace.
  • Participate in all required training programs related to food and beverage service.
  • Adhere to company standards and policies regarding cash handling.
  • Respond to guest inquiries and relay feedback to management.
  • Punctually report for shifts in appropriate attire.
  • Assist in various areas of the food and beverage operation as needed.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS:

  • APPEARANCE: Adherence to grooming standards as outlined in the associate handbook.
  • LANGUAGE: Ability to read and understand simple instructions and correspondence, and effectively communicate with guests and team members.
  • MATH: Competence in basic calculations and the ability to apply fundamental algebraic concepts.
  • REASONING: Ability to follow instructions and solve problems in a structured environment.
  • PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Regularly required to stand, walk, and handle objects; must be able to lift and move items up to 30 pounds.
  • WORK ENVIRONMENT: The role is performed in a busy, high-traffic setting with moderate noise levels.
