COMPENSATION
Hiring Range: $110,000
POSITION SUMMARY
The Nursing Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing team, fostering an environment of growth through coaching, training, and mentorship.
SUPERVISION
This position reports directly to the Senior Medical Director.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Identify and address operational, administrative, and supervisory challenges within the nursing team.
- Develop staff schedules that optimize resource utilization based on patient census requirements.
- Enhance client care by promoting effective communication between nursing staff and clients.
- Coordinate treatment efforts with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care.
- Lead departmental meetings, providing updates on processes, changes, and team development needs.
- Collaborate with Human Resources on staff recruitment, training, retention, and performance evaluations.
- Work with team members and organizational leaders to refine work processes, update procedures, and suggest policy modifications.
- Oversee the management of medications and medical equipment, ensuring proper storage and accountability.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and promptly report any medication errors or incidents.
- Assist in formulating the departmental budget.
- Provide direct care to clients during staff shortages, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
- Adhere to confidentiality regulations, including HIPAA and other relevant policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Current Colorado RN nursing license is required.
- Certification in CPR/First Aid/AED is mandatory.
- A minimum of two years of direct patient care experience as a licensed nurse.
- At least one year of experience as a preceptor.
- Preferred: One year of supervisory experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment.
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and holidays in a 24/7 facility.
- A valid Colorado driver's license and a clean driving record are necessary for driving duties.
- If in recovery from substance use, a minimum of six months of continuous sobriety is required.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to balance supervisory duties with clinical responsibilities effectively.
- Critical thinking and decisive judgment within the scope of nursing practice.
- Willingness to learn and apply Huron leadership principles.
- Capacity to relate to clients and families with empathy and professionalism.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred knowledge of medical business operations and financial management.
- Proficient in electronic medical record systems to meet operational standards.
- Demonstrated maturity, sound judgment, and decision-making capabilities.
- Genuine commitment to Harmony's mission and vision, actively supporting organizational goals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be physically capable of navigating stairs, accessing all areas of the facility, assisting with patient mobility, and performing CPR.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with assistance.
