Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Physician Assistant to provide support to a specialized hand, wrist, and elbow surgeon. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a motivated and dedicated PA eager to advance their career within a thriving clinical environment. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care in both clinical and surgical settings.
Key Responsibilities
The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Collaborating closely with the existing medical team.
- Assisting the physician in both clinic and operating room environments.
- Evaluating patient health status, including wellness and adherence to care plans, and determining suitable diagnostic and therapeutic interventions.
- Leveraging practice technology, including electronic health records and dictation tools, to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Providing medical care as delegated by the supervising physician.
- Educating patients and their families to ensure continuity of care.
- Conducting comprehensive physical examinations and compiling patient medical histories.
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, and assessing results for abnormalities.
- Performing therapeutic procedures, including injections and wound care.
- Developing and implementing patient management plans and maintaining progress notes.
- Traveling with the physician as necessary.
- Counseling patients on compliance with prescribed treatment regimens and health maintenance.
Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- A BA/BS degree; a Master's degree is preferred, along with graduation from an AMA-accredited PA program.
- A current PA license in Illinois and Indiana or a willingness to obtain one.
- Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
- Current CPR certification.
