Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Technician to join our team at Wayne Farms LLC. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting and maintaining Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), process and machine controls, advanced electrical systems, and advanced mechanical and electromechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently create and modify ladder logic, install, troubleshoot, and program PLC hardware (Allen-Bradley) and perform process control networking tasks using blueprints and schematic drawings to ensure equipment is performing safely to required specifications.
  • Calibrate, install, and repair flow and density, temperature, pressure, level, speed, and moisture/humidity transmitters process and machine controls.
  • Troubleshoot and maintain AC and DC electrical system controls.
  • Troubleshoot and repair relays and perform alignments on mechanical equipment as needed.
  • Search for and present ideas for permanent fixes for recurring electrical problems.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and correct; request assistance if unable to correct on own.
  • Assist with maintaining a file of blueprints and operating manuals and procedures as needed.
  • Train lower-level employees as needed.
  • Work in compliance with all company policies, NCC Animal Welfare Guidelines, and local, state, and federal policies, laws, and regulations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 1, 2, and 3 certified.
  • Pass NOCTI Mechanical/Electrical test, Level 4 required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in industrial machinery preventative maintenance and repair, mechanical and electrical knowledge a must.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, drawings, and schematics required.
  • Intermediate math and computer skills.
  • Ability to operate/use hand and power tools required; experience with welding, pipefitting, and/or fabrication required.
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate in English required.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivate.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended shift hours.
  • Sound work ethic, honesty, and moral character.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand up to 8 hours.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs.
  • Frequent/constant walking around facility up to 150,000 sf.
  • Exposure to wet and cold and wet and hot environments.
  • Frequently reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and crawling.
  • Frequently climbs stairs and ladders.
  • Work around raw, live animal odors.
