POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Senior Business Consultant/Product Strategist to join our Retail and Consumer Goods Practice. The ideal candidate will possess substantial experience in the Retail sector, particularly in Merchandising.

As a Senior Consultant, you will be instrumental in delivering on Cognizant's Five Pillars of Consulting Excellence: 1) Project Execution, 2) Expertise, 3) Business Development, 4) Practice Development, and 5) People Development. This role involves collaborating with clients and project stakeholders to clarify requirements and support the delivery of impactful solutions. You will leverage your technical and domain expertise to address core business challenges, enhance domain knowledge, and contribute to business development initiatives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

In this capacity, the BUSINESS CONSULTANT will engage with a Scrum team focused on the Merchandising Domain, emphasizing product data acquisition, validation, transformation, and utilization. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Detailing and understanding user stories
  • Creating and managing weekly performance reports
  • Updating and maintaining process flows related to core merchandising functions
  • Coordinating and providing actionable recommendations for business and technical teams
  • Facilitating meetings among business users, product teams, and technical teams
  • Identifying opportunities for process enhancements and making informed recommendations
  • Modeling Agile principles to measure output and continuously deliver value
  • Managing stakeholder relationships to influence and drive change

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify key performance metrics and utilize data for decision-making
  • A comprehensive understanding of the business domain, stakeholders, and processes relevant to the product
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional software development teams in an Agile environment
  • Technical proficiency to lead teams effectively
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills to build and maintain influential relationships
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to bridge business and technical discussions

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Proven leadership experience in product lifecycle development or adjacent fields
  • 1-2+ years of experience as a business analyst in a technology-driven environment
  • A relevant bachelor's degree in business, marketing, management, computer science, or a related field
  • Experience with multi-channel retail operations
  • Familiarity with iterative product development methodologies (Agile)
  • Proficiency in using Atlassian products
  • Data management experience, including SQL and Mural
