Position Overview: We're seeking a passionate and dedicated School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide valuable support to Speech-Language Pathologists and deliver essential services to students with diverse communication needs.
Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Evaluation: Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in conducting assessments and evaluations of students' speech and language needs.
- IEP Development: Support in the development and implementation of tailored education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide direct therapy services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with school staff and parents to support students' progress and communication skills.
- Progress Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions.
Requirements:
- Education: Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistance or related field.
- Certification: Current state certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) or eligibility for certification.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school-based setting is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively within a team, and follow direction from supervising SLP.
