We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer II to join our team at Shea Writing and Training Solutions, Inc. as a Content Specialist. As a key member of our documentation team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality technical documents that meet the needs of our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and technical specialists to develop, review, and maintain technical documents, including SOPs, policies, work instructions, user guides, software manuals, reports, specifications, plans, and other technical or training documents.
- Design and develop document templates that adhere to branding requirements and standards, ensuring a consistent look and feel.
- Research, write, format, edit, and revise procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users.
- Gather and analyze technical information from various sources to document new or revised information.
- Communicate complex concepts in a clear and engaging manner, making them accessible to users with different levels of technical expertise.
- Assist in planning, scheduling, and tracking documentation development tasks to meet client deliverables deadlines.
- Contribute to maintaining documentation standards, including participating in peer editing.
- Edit other writers' content and documentation for consistency, readability, usability, and adherence to established project conventions.
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience working as a technical writer or in a related role.
- Expertise in Microsoft Word, including proficiency in template development and applying/building styles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint applications.
- Ability to analyze and synthesize complex content.
- Experience in creating documentation for audiences with different levels of technical skill.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong technical aptitude – ability to quickly learn new concepts and skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment with minimal oversight.
