Position Summary:
The Physical Therapist is responsible for delivering comprehensive physical therapy services, which encompass the assessment, treatment, and prevention of various health-related conditions. This role utilizes a range of therapeutic modalities, including but not limited to thermal, mechanical, and electrical interventions, as well as therapeutic exercises, to enhance patient recovery and functionality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to the established Performance Standards and Policies of the organization.
- Conduct thorough evaluations and implement treatment plans based on physician referrals.
- Design and adjust treatment plans as necessary, assessing rehabilitation potential and contributing to discharge planning.
- Perform regular assessments and modify program objectives to align with patient progress.
- Provide care for a diverse patient demographic, including infants, children, and adolescents, as required.
- Administer oxygen therapy under the direction of a qualified healthcare provider, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Identify the need for additional services (e.g., Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy) and collaborate with other healthcare professionals.
- Employ a variety of treatment techniques tailored to individual patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring timely re-evaluations as needed.
- Manage patient scheduling and coordinate responsibilities in the event of absence.
- Educate patients on the proper use and maintenance of therapeutic equipment.
- Supervise the activities of support staff, including Physical Medicine Technicians and interns.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of departmental equipment and report any issues promptly.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize therapeutic interventions and maintain communication regarding patient outcomes.
- Provide mentorship to physical therapy students, demonstrating effective techniques and practices.
- Engage in quality assessment initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of care standards.
- Participate in departmental meetings and professional development opportunities, sharing knowledge with colleagues.
- Accept varied assignments in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- Educate families on patient care needs and management strategies prior to discharge.
- Assist with billing inquiries related to services and equipment.
- Assess departmental equipment needs and make recommendations for purchases.
- Maintain accurate departmental records and documentation.
- Complete mandatory training and in-service programs as required.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited Physical Therapy program with a Bachelor's degree or higher.
- Possession of a valid New York State Physical Therapy license or eligibility for licensure.
- Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association within six months of hire.
- Successful completion of the orientation program as per departmental guidelines.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage constructively with others.
- Commitment to promoting quality in-service training for staff.

Salary Range: $83,239.46-$124, based on Full-Time Hours. The salary range is a good faith estimate of potential compensation and may be adjusted in the future based on various factors.
